About Neon Noise

What Is Neon Noise?

Neon Noise is a digital music publication dedicated to documenting the heartbeat of live music and the stories that surround it. Born in the Pacific Northwest and run by working creatives, we focus on authenticity, representation, and the belief that music culture is shaped by the many, not the few.

We cover concerts, review new music, interview artists, and dive into the behind-the-scenes world most publications ignore — the touring crews, techs, engineers, designers, and everyday creatives who keep this industry alive.

Our Mission

To amplify voices in music.
To champion creatives who are too often overlooked.
To create opportunities and visibility for women, POC, and LGBTQ+ artists, journalists, and industry professionals.
To document real stories with honesty, grit, and respect.

While we welcome all contributors, our focus is on elevating underrepresented perspectives — not maintaining the same old gatekeepers.

Why We Exist

Because the music industry is full of incredible people who never get the spotlight.
Because representation matters.
Because live music deserves to be documented with artistry, intention, and truth.
Because every show, every album, and every creative deserves a space where their voice actually counts.

This is a publication built by creatives, for creatives.

Who’s Behind This

Neon Noise is co-run by Alexandra Thomas, photographer, publicist, writer, and lifelong documentarian of real moments, and Travis Blankenship, a veteran stagehand, backline tech, and tour manager with years of touring and industry experience.

Together, we bridge the gap between stage and story.

Hi! My goal is to combine my love for live music and being creative to have a career in concert photo/video. I value capturing memories and recording moments to share with the bands, the fans, and other creatives. The first concert I attended was a dual headliner with Sir Sly and Joywave, and my favorite concerts have been every time I get to see Twenty One Pilots! In my free time, I enjoy being outdoors, attending concerts, drinking coffee, and spending time with loved ones.  Support local bands, live music, & art created by humans!

I'm a 27 year old Philadelphia area based concert photographer with over 9 years of experience! I always loved music and using the family camera to express myself growing up. Eventually I got my own camera and started going to concerts regularly, and at 18 I merged these things together by asking a band I liked for my first photo pass. I love the rush of energy between the artist and the crowd when they first walk on stage and I am so thankful to have the best "seat" in the house to capture that energy!
